Confidence and resilience can take a knock for a host of reasons at any stage in our working lives. Here are just a few examples of where I can help:
Dealing with the impact of Covid-19
The sudden changes we have had to navigate in our work and home lives are substantial and it is not surprising if these lead to a feeling of “overwhelm”. I will give you a safe space to stop and reflect on what you are facing. I will support you to identify small incremental steps to help you regain your resilience so you can thrive, rather than simply survive, in our new circumstances. I draw upon tried and tested tools and techniques from the fields of positive psychology and neuroscience.
Returning to work after a long term absence
Regaining workplace confidence after a long period of absence from work can be quite a challenge even when you have the support of a phased return to work and an understanding manager.
I support individuals in this situation by helping them to regain their confidence and resilience and to prioritise the achievement of key performance targets whilst retaining work life balance.
I also provide tools/techniques for enhancing performance in areas such as effective time management, decision making, communication, dealing with difficult situations and assertiveness.
Formal HR proceedings
Disciplinary, grievance, capability and risk of redundancy processes, however well handled, can sometimes leave those affected by them feeling bruised and lacking in self-confidence. This can negatively impact how quickly they move on and get back up to speed with their day to day work.
I support clients to manage their emotions, come to terms with any perceived injustice and regain the confidence they need to return to peak performance.
Performance issues
Dips in performance can happen for a host of different reasons and it can be a real struggle for the individual to get back on track and for their manager to find the right balance between providing support and micro-managing.
I offer support to individuals or managers in this situation. I encourage honest self-assessment to pinpoint areas requiring improvement and enable clients to draw on their strengths to address areas for improvement.
I provide tools/techniques for development in many areas including effective time management, planning and organising, decision making, communication, dealing with difficult situations and assertiveness.
I support managers to prepare for difficult conversations about performance, to set clear expectations and to find the appropriate balance between being directive and supportive.
